Returning First World War Diggers formed the Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL) in 1916 to support returned service men and women and their families. The RSL has 1500 Sub Branches Australia wide and 240,000 members.

On Anzac Day, April 25, families, schools and sporting and community groups gather by the sea, at memorials and in RSL Clubs around the Sapphire Coast. Merimbula RSL Sub Branch organises activities each year.

MERIMBULA DAWN SERVICE
Muster at the Memorial in Beach Street Merimbula at 5.40am for a Service commencing at 6am.

• Merimbula RSL Sub-Branch President will deliver the commemoration address.
• The Australian Defence Force Academy Catafalque Party will attend.
• The Last Post and Reveille will be by RSL Bugler.

A barbecue breakfast provided by the Merimbula RSL Sub-Branch afterwards.

WOLUMLA COMMEMORATION SERVICE
Muster opposite the Wolumla hotel in Bega Street at 8.30am before the March to the Wolumla War Memorial at the end of Bega Street opposite Clarke Street for a 9am Service and Wreath laying.

PAMBULA COMMEMORATION SERVICE
Muster in front of the Foodworks Supermarket in Quondola Street at 8.40am before the March to the Pambula District Soldiers Memorial opposite the Pambula Post Office for the 9am Service and Wreath laying.

MERIMBULA COMMEMORATION SERVICE
Muster near the Main Street entrance of the Merimbula RSL Club at 10.40am to march to the Memorial in Beach Street, for the 11am Service and Wreath laying.

• The Catafalque Party will lead the march.
• Students from Lumen Christi Catholic College, Eden High School and Pambula Public School will also deliver addresses on the theme of ANZAC Day.
• Last Post and Reveille will be by RSL Bugler

LUNCHEON
The Merimbula RSL ANZAC Day Luncheon in the Scenic Lounge is at 12.30pm. Please contact the club on (02) 6495 1502 or Merimbula RSL Sub Branch Hon. Secretary. Tony Toussaint (M) 0417249235 to see if tickets are available.  Tickets are only available up until Wednesday 22 April.

The Coral Sea Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner on ANZAC Day and the club will also feature the AFL and NRL ANZAC Day matches on the big screens.

*Merimbula RSL Club will open at its normal time of 10am on ANZAC DAY
